State continues to help travelers leave Hatteras Island
In the aftermath of a powerful nor’easter that damaged roadways and trapped visitors, the state is to open at 3 p.m. Tuesday a temporary lane of N.C. Highway 12 between the Marc Basnight Bridge to Rodanthe and continue to offer the 24-hour emergency ferry route between Rodanthe and Stumpy Point.
If you don’t live on Hatteras Island, don’t attempt going there
N.C. Highway 12 remains closed at Pea Island until at least Wednesday morning and nonresident visitors and nonresident property owners are not permitted to enter Hatteras Island.
Ferry system to hold career fairs for toll collection positions
The career fairs for entry level positions are scheduled for Tuesday at the Currituck Ferry Terminal, Wednesday at Hatteras Ferry Terminal and Thursday at Bayview Ferry Terminal in Bath. All will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
