A workshop on the North Carolina Resilient Coastal Communities Program has been set for next month.
The workshop set for Thursday, Sept. 24, targets RCCP communities in North Carolina’s 20 Coastal Area Management Act, or CAMA, counties.

Participants, including those communities, along with partner organizations and consultants, are invited to reflect on the program’s successes, share lessons learned and discuss findings of the RCCP external evaluation. The evaluation, released in November 2025, found that the program is effectively reaching a wide range of coastal communities and highlights the need for room to grow to help the smallest of coastal towns, which remain underrepresented.
Discussion will also cover ways to strengthen the program, connect peers across the coast to exchange ideas and help the next phase of the program.
The workshop will be hosted 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Riverfront Convention Center of Craven County, 203 S. Front St., New Bern. Registration is required.
The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Coastal Management administers the program to support coastal resilience goals, assess community capacity, and identify and prioritize projects that strengthen resilience to coastal hazards.
