Some sirens may be tested more than once and additional testing may be held after 11 a.m. following siren maintenance.
The network of 38 sirens Duke Energy owns and maintains within 10 miles of the plant are routinely tested to ensure they are functioning properly.
The test will not interrupt regular programming to broadcast emergency alert messages, which are aired on local radio and television states in real emergencies.
