The TDA said that Gould brings extensive experience in destination marketing, stakeholder engagement and tourism strategy to the role. An area native, she has been with the TDA for more than a decade, most recently serving as its deputy executive director.
“Karen brings a deep understanding of the destination and region’s tourism landscape and there’s no one else I’d rather have as my successor,” said current Executive Director Jim Browder in the announcement. “That, paired with her extensive destination marketing experience, makes her an exceptional fit to lead the TDA. She has a clear vision for sustainable growth and thoughtful destination storytelling, which are instrumental when it comes to promoting our destination on both a regional and national scale.”
In her new role, Gould will oversee the TDA’s strategic direction, including marketing, communications, stakeholder engagement and tourism development initiatives.
“I’m honored to step into this new role at the Crystal Coast Tourism Development Authority,” said Gould. “The Crystal Coast holds a special place in my heart, not just because it’s home, but because of its natural beauty, rich history and strong sense of place. I look forward to building on the foundation I’ve built over the last ten years, while continuing to share the destination’s story with travelers.”
