The N.C. Department of Transportation will close Janeiro Road to replace the bridge over Dawson Creek.
Beginning Monday, crews will close Janeiro Road to begin construction of the new bridge. The closure is expected to remain in place through the fall, weather permitting.

Due to the construction safety concerns, Dawson Creek Public Park and beach access will also be closed during the project.
While the park and beach access are closed, officials said residents and visitors can enjoy the nearby alternative recreational area at Styron Town Park and Beach Access, 681 Stryontown Beach Road, in Oriental.
Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through work zones.
