The two public hearings on revised log fumigation rules scheduled for next week have been postponed based on the current guidance to avoid gatherings of over 100 people to help minimize the spread of COVID-19, the Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality announced Friday.
The meetings were scheduled for Tuesday in Raleigh and Wednesday in Wilmington. The proposed rule, amendment, and fiscal note are available on the DEQ website.
The Division of Air Quality continues to accept public comment and will explore additional methods to safely provide information and solicit public input as next steps are determined.
The public can submit comments by email to DAQ.firstname.lastname@example.org. Include “Revised Log Fumigation” in the subject line.
Mail written comments to Patrick Knowlson, N.C. Division of Air Quality, 1641 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699-1641.
