Experience the Moores Creek National Battlefield in Pender County the evening of Nov. 19 during the annual candlelight tour.
The free, family friendly program will have visitors travel along the candlelit trail while hearing stories of the early days of the American Revolution and of the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge.
The walking tour will take place over uneven terrain and finish at the visitor center. Visitors will then be transported back down to Patriot’s Hall via a hayride.
Plan to arrive around 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time to check-in. Tours last about 45 minutes and leave from Patriot’s Hall every 15 minutes.
The first tour begins at 5:30 p.m. and the last tour leaves at 9:15 p.m.
Tours are free, but reservations are required. To make a reservation, contact the park at 910-283-5591 ext. 2234.
For large groups such as church groups, Scout groups, or any other large groups, the park requires each family to call and confirm their spot within the tour.
For a full listing of event details, including times for the weapons demonstrations, follow the park on Facebook at www.facebook.com/moorescreeknps or visit at www.nps.gov/mocr. Event information is posted as it becomes available.
