Pender County Tourism is hosting a workshop to promote sustainable practices to safeguard coastal ecosystems and educate visitors.
The Green Practices Environment Awareness Seminar is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Surf City Welcome Center, 102 North Shore Drive. Register at https://bit.ly/GreenPracticesEnviromentalSeminar.

Guest speakers include representatives from the North Carolina Coastal Federation, Plastic Ocean Project, N.C. Green Travel Initiative, Ocean Friendly Establishments, University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the Topsail Island Shoreline Protection Committee.
Speakers will provide organizational updates, offer strategies and initiatives to reduce plastic usage, and hold an open discussion with attendees.
