The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature Rep. Chris Pappas, D-N.H., and Sen. Kristen Gillibrand, D-N.Y. Geoff Gisler, senior attorney with the Southern Environmental Law Center’s North Carolina office; Christine Santillana, legislative counsel with EarthJustice; Michelle Mabson, staff scientist with EarthJustice; and Sergio Cahueque, organizer with Defend Our Health, are also expected to participate.
The discussion will focus on PFAS in drinking water and what can be done to protect the most vulnerable communities. A key segment of the discussion is to touch on the Clean Water Standards for PFAS Act, HR 3622 and S. 1907, a bill endorsed by the Southern Environmental Law Center that aims to improve water quality and stop PFAS pollution at the source.
