RALEIGH — The state Department of Environmental Quality says it’s reexamining its public participation practices to conduct the people’s business in a more open and transparent way that reaches an increasingly diverse population amid a changing media landscape.
DEQ said Tuesday it is accepting public comment through Sept. 18 on draft plans for public participation and reaching those who speak a language other than English. All comments received by the close of the comment period will be considered as the final versions of the plans are completed.
