Featured speaker Robbie Davis, founder and owner of Native Plants Matter NC, will headline the Feb. 27 session, where participants will be given an invasive plant management overview that will delve into how to identify common species of concern and apply practical, effective strategies to control growth on different property types and scales.

North Carolina Sea Grant’s Gloria Putnam will provide opening comments, followed by Davis, who specializes in invasive species removal and native plant installation.
N.C. Environmental Education Certification Program Criteria III or continuing education professional development credits will be available through this session.

Created by Sea Grant and the Coastal Landscape Initiative, “Landscapes that Last” invites coastal residents, local governments, home owners associations and nurseries to explore sustainable practices to protect the state’s coastal environment.
Session topics include expert advice on things like choosing salt-tolerant plants, tree conservation, stormwater pond improvements and sourcing eco-friendly plants.
