Cape Hatteras National Seashore will close the Ocracoke Beach access parking lot for about a week starting Monday.
The closure is planned for a paving and repair project by a Hyde County contractor.

During the project, the restroom facility at the Ocracoke Beach access is to remain open for beach visitors.
Officials said an alternate parking area next to the Ocracoke Campground will be available for visitors.
The parking lot will have a new 1.5-inch overlay of asphalt and new striping as part of a project to repair damages incurred while the area was used for 2019’s Hurricane Dorian debris storage.
