The National Weather Service office in Newport is holding a community forum about hurricanes at 10 a.m. Tuesday online and in-person at Pine Knoll Shores town hall.
All members of the public are welcome to view the presentation on hurricanes and their impacts on Eastern North Carolina by a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

Attendees will also hear why it’s important to focus on more than just the category of the storm as well as an overview of all the impacts any tropical cyclone can bring.
At the end of the forum there will be a community discussion and time to ask questions.
