DARE COUNTY — The county planning department is asking for input from citizens and property owners of unincorporated Dare County regarding the Dare County Land Use Plan.
The planning department is asking the public to complete a land use plan survey at www.darenc.com/landusesurvey that features several questions about land use issues for the area. The results will be applied to the land use plan update.

There will also be a series of workshops to kick-off the update process at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at the Fessenden Center in Buxton and at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at the Thomas A. Baum Center in Kill Devil Hills. The first workshop was held Monday, April 23, in Manteo.
The workshops will give the public an opportunity to share their thoughts on the vision statement and policies of the Dare County Land Use Plan.
As one of 20 coastal counties, Dare County is required by the state to adopt a comprehensive land use plan and update the plan every five to 10 years. The current land use plan was certified in 2011.
