WANCHESE — Tour the campus and facilities during an open house of the University of North Carolina Coastal Studies Institute 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan, 20.
In addition to seeing the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED gold certified CSI campus and facilities, located about a mile from the U.S. 64 and N.C. 345 intersection, visitors can learn about current research and education programs, take part in family friendly activities and interact with faculty and staff.

UNC CSI is administered by East Carolina University in partnership with UNC Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University, UNC Wilmington and Elizabeth City State University.
It is the mission of the Coastal Studies Institute to undertake research, offer educational opportunities, provide community outreach programs, and enhance communication among those concerned with the unique history, culture, and environment of the maritime counties of North Carolina.
