Moffatt & Nichol, an engineering firm hired by the town, was to make a presentation and discuss proposed dredging areas in Jinks, Mary’s and Turtle Creeks, the Bay Area, the Feeder Channel and the finger canals along Sixth, Marlin, Dolphin, Sailfish and Cobia streets.
Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions, make suggestions and comment in an informal setting. The town council will not take any action during the meeting, according to the notice.
Residents near the proposed projects sites have expressed worry over dredging could have on sedimentation in Jinks Creek and, in turn, the health of an estuary that includes the creek.
