
The panel of scientists that advises the state’s Coastal Resources Commission is to have an online meeting at 11 a.m. Thursday to formulate a plan to write a report on the effects of hard structures on coastlines.
The Coastal Resources Commission’s science panel, which provides the commission with scientific data and recommendations pertaining to coastal topics, was directed at the commission’s November 2025 meeting to evaluate alternatives for managing oceanfront erosion.

The purpose of this meeting is to develop an outline for the report to propose to the Coastal Resources Commission.

There will be a listening session for the meeting at N.C. Division of Coastal Management headquarters office at 400 Commerce Ave., Morehead City.
