Alliance for Cape Fear Trees is holding its largest tree giveaway yet on Friday, with more than 1,400 native trees up for the taking.
The giveaway will be held in Wilmington noon-5 p.m. Friday at Legion Stadium, 2149 Carolina Beach Road, and will continue starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, if there are remaining trees.
Supporter Spotlight
The nonprofit will be offering 14 species of native trees, including stock from Burton Natural Systems and heritage Southern live oaks from Penderlea Farms.
Those interested in participating in the giveaway are encouraged to view the list of available trees in advance to “plan ahead for a tree that will suit your space and needs.”
Trees will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Coastal Review cannot guarantee availability.
