
Moores Creek National Battlefield in Pender County is commemorating Feb. 26-28 the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge and is looking for food vendors to join the celebration.
The Battle at Moores Creek was the first decisive patriot victory in the American Revolution and led to North Carolina to be the first colony to authorize its delegates to the 2nd Continental Congress to vote for independence, according to America 250th NC, the state-organized commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

“As part of this historic celebration, we are inviting local food trucks to be part of the festivities and serve between 5,000 and 7,500 visitors over the two days,” organizers said in the press release.
Organizers are looking for food trucks that meet the following criteria:
- Be within 25 miles of the battlefield in Pender County.
- Offer breakfast items such as coffee, donuts, pastries, and other morning fare.
- Offer menu items such as seafood, international flavors and creative alternatives.
- Follow federal, state, and local health codes, which the park will specify.
- Have a ServSafe Certification.
- Be able to commit to both days.
- Submit a menu with pricing upon submission.
- Have liability insurance.
“This is a unique opportunity to be part of a major milestone in American history while showcasing your culinary offerings to a diverse and enthusiastic crowd,” officials said.
