
The state Division of Marine Fisheries will hold a public hearing later this month on a proposed shellfish lease in Hyde County.
The hearing will be hosted in-person in Swan Quarter at the Hyde County Courthouse, 40 Oyster Creek Road, and virtually via Webex. The hearing is on Ethan G. Credle’s lease application for a 2.28-acre shellfish bottom and water-column lease in Germantown Bay.

The hearing is set for 6 p.m. April 29.
Those who attend the hearing in person may sign up to speak between 5-6 p.m. on the evening of the hearing. Anyone who wishes to comment virtually must register to speak by 4 p.m. April 28 at deq.nc.gov/hyde-county-shellfish-lease-hearing-speaker-registration.
Written comments will be accepted until 5 p.m. April 30 either online or by mail to N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries, Shellfish Lease & Aquaculture Program, P.O. Box 769, 3441 Arendell St., Morehead City, NC 28557.
