The agenda and registration information can be found on the organization’s website.
The symposium “provides a collaborative forum for the exchange of information on recent research, infrastructure best management practices, policy development, restoration and resilience projects, and advocacy that protects the quality of water and quality of life for all in coastal NC,” according to organizers.
Leland Town Council member Veronica Carter, who is also a North Carolina Coastal Federation board member, will join Chiara Klein, Duke University Superfund Research Center program coordinator, to address increasing access to information and policymaking processes for communities impacted by chemical contaminants in wild-caught fish.
The three-day symposium will also include presentations on research and solutions for water pollution, interactive sessions on water quality monitoring and policy advocacy, and networking opportunities with experts, stakeholders, decisionmakers, potential funders and people from the community.
