The governor’s office and cabinet agencies are asking for public comment, input and recommendations to advance environmental justice.
The state is holding three community input sessions, the first of which is to be held virtually from 4-6 p.m. Dec. 14.

The outreach is a directive under Executive Order 246, North Carolina’s Transformation to a Clean, Equitable Economy, which Gov. Roy Cooper signed in January.
The Metropolitan Group will facilitate these conversations to identify and prioritize key issues and recommendations for potential future executive action. The Metropolitan Group is a social change advocacy organization based in Portland, Oregon.
