The Currituck-Knotts Island route will be closed Wednesday while crews replace the route’s vessel.
The crew from Currituck will take the M/V James B. Hunt to the state shipyard in Manns Harbor for routine scheduled maintenance and will return to Currituck with the M/V Frisco, to serve the route in the interim, the North Carolina Department of Transportation announced Tuesday.
