Dare County Public Works is collecting household hazardous waste next week at three locations.
Organizers ask that any unmarked containers be labeled before they’re dropped off, if the contents are known.

The Northern Beach collection is set for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at Kitty Hawk Town Hall.
The Buxton collection is set for 2-4 p.m. Friday, May 14, at the Buxton Transfer Station, 47015 Buxton Back Road.
The Roanoke Island collection is set for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at the Dare County Public Works Facility, 1018 Driftwood Drive in Manteo.

- Automotive fluids such as brake, transmission, etc.
Items not accepted
- Commercial/business/industrial waste
- 55-gallon drums of material
- Radioactive material
- Explosives
- Bullets
- Cylinders, other than propane or fire extinguishers
