The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s NC FIRST Commission is asking the public to use a new online investment tool, CRAFTS, to submit ideas for the next two weeks on revenue solutions for the future.
The public is encouraged to use CRAFTS, which stands for Creating Revenue and Finding Transportation Solutions, to develop revenue and investment scenarios. These proposals must be submitted by Dec. 14. Commissioners will review all public input before finalizing recommendations in January.

North Carolina Future Investment Resources for Sustainable Transportation, or NC FIRST, was formed in March 2019 to look at the state’s current and future transportation investment needs and advise the secretary of new or better ways to ensure that critical financial resources are available in the future.
NC FIRST unveiled the CRAFTS tool in September, allowing commissioners to test the tool before it was made available to the public Wednesday. The public can now access the tool and comment portal on the CRAFTS webpage.
