Beach parking permits for the four-wheel drive beach in Corolla for this year will be available for pickup starting Thursday at the Moyock Welcome Center or the Corolla Visitors Center, Currituck County announced Wednesday.
The permits, which are required for beach parking from Memorial Day to Labor Day, will not be mailed.

County residents need to present a valid ID and proof of residency, such as a tax record or utility bill, to receive their free permit. Visitors must have a valid ID and license plate number to purchase a permit.
At both centers, distribution will be held outdoors with sneeze guards and hand sanitizer at each station. Citizens are asked to wear a face mask if possible.
No permit application or beach parking regulations certificate will be required this year.
