Ticketholders to the Hatteras Island Oyster Roast Feb. 1 can enjoy oysters while helping the coastal environment.
Set for 1-4 p.m. Feb. 1 at Oden’s Dock, the outdoor event that benefits the North Carolina Coastal Federation will have fresh oysters, seafood chowder, corn bread and other refreshments as well as live music by Blurkey’s Quirky Friends.

The nonrefundable tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Members of the federation will receive a $5 discount. Ticket price includes all you can eat steamed oysters, one serving of chowder, corn bread and a nonalcoholic beverage. Advance registration is recommended and can be done online.
Folks can also purchase homemade desserts from the bake sale and bid on silent auction items from local artisans, a half-day fishing trip and more.
The Coastal Federation will use the proceeds for oyster education and restoration programs and well as donate a portion to support hurricane recovery efforts in the area. The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau is sponsoring this event.
This event has sold out in past years and tickets at the door may be be limited or not available. This event will take place rain or shine. In the case of extremely bad weather, the oyster roast will take place at the Hatteras Village Civic Center.
