MOREHEAD CITY — A smorgasbord of seafood will be served Sept. 15 during the 2018 Shuck, Rattle and Roll at Carteret Community College.
The evening will showcase the work of the college’s aquaculture and culinary students while supporting the aquaculture program and the North Carolina Shellfish Growers Association.

Set for 5 to 8 p.m. at the Howard Building on campus, all seafood served at the event will be produced by current and former Carteret Community College, or CCC, aquaculture students.
Tickets, $30 a person in advance or $40 each at the door, are on sale now. Children 12 and under eat free.
Ticketholders can chat with area growers about their growing techniques and enjoy fresh, local shellfish. After sampling the oysters, attendees can vote for the 2018 Best Oyster Award.
Students from the culinary program will prepare raw bar oysters and clams from college and commercial operations owned by or employing aquaculture students and graduates; soft shell crabs shed at the campus aquaculture facility; CCC tank0-raised striped bass; steamed North Carolina-grown shrimp from SAFE Seafood based in Chocowinity and operated by a CCC graduate; steamed hard clams, Sunray Venus clams and oysters from CCC Bogue Sound shellfish lease; and clam chowder and shrimp bisque
There will be live music by 4EverAll and additional catering is by Roland’s BBQ of Beaufort. Fishtowne Brew House of Beaufort will provide craft beer and there will be a cash bar.
