
The state Division of Coastal Management is hosting another public hearing on a permit application for the proposed mid-Currituck bridge project.
The focus of the April 16 hearing will be Coastal Area Management Act, or CAMA, permit application completed in early January by the North Carolina Department of Transportation and North Carolina Turnpike Authority.

The proposed bridge would span the Currituck Sound from Aydlett to south of Corolla. The project also includes improvements to existing roadways in Currituck and Dare Counties.
A previous public hearing on the project was held March 18 in Dare County.
The April 16 hearing will be held 5-7 p.m. at the Currituck Extension Center, 120 Community Way, Barco.
Speaker registration opens at 4 p.m. Speaker time may be limited depending on the number of registered speakers.
The public comment period on the proposed project has been extended to April 30.
