The Wright Brothers National Memorial at the site where Wilbur and Orville Wright made their world-changing first flights on the Outer Banks is waiving its entrance fee on eight days this year.
Visitors will be able to enter the National Park Service memorial at no charge on the following days:

- Aug. 4: Great American Outdoors Act Anniversary.
- Aug. 19: National Aviation Day.

- Nov. 11: Veterans Day.
- Dec. 17: The 121st anniversary of the Wright brothers’ first flight.
The memorial at 1000 North Croatan Highway in Kill Devil Hills is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week, year-round except for Christmas day. Learn more on the website.
