Officials have announced services to aid Hurricane Matthew recovery in Hatteras Village.
Applications have opened for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for damages suffered by homeowners, renters and business owners in Dare County. Assistance came in temporary housing, rental assistance, property replacement and medical or dental expenses.

Dare County Food and Nutrition Services has extended the reporting deadline for food benefits to Oct. 28 to determine if the applicants qualify for replacement benefits.
Storm debris collection began Oct. 21 for vegetative, household hazardous waste, electronic and white good waste. Services for removal will increase next week as additional contractors arrive.
The Outer Banks Community Foundation is accepting monetary donations to provide financial assistance for emergency needs.
