The North Carolina state parks system released a digital version of its 100-Mile Challenge, a program that encourages residents to stay active and explore the state’s nature.
A brochure version of the 100-Mile Challenge was introduced earlier this year as part of North Carolina’s State Parks centennial celebration.

Participants log miles of walking, hiking, paddling or any other similar activities in state parks or green ways. Throughout the challenge, they will receive digital badges for milestones. Those that reach 100 miles will earn a commemorative pin.
North Carolina is home to the 1,150-mile Mountains-to-Sea Trail from the Great Smoky Mountains to the Outer Banks. The challenge’s website lists regional parks and trails.
